The company has released its free, award-winning ModelPress 4.1 3D model compression, publishing and viewer software. It is available for download on the ModelPress Web site at www.modelpress.com.
The software uses a compression algorithm to optimize large 3D data sets for network distribution. It converts a range of 3D formats into the new 3DF display using the ModelPress Reader. The 3DF format is designed to identify IGC as the provider of secure, PDF-like publishing of 3D models to the Web. e-mail and other forms of electronic file sharing. 3DF publishing incorporates IGC's Visual Rights persistent security technology, allowing content authors to apply a compliment of security controls to their model files, including password protection. hard or relative viewing expiration dates and allow/unallow printing and copying. It also has the ability to hide the interior details of a model.
