Software generates CNC fixture programs without NC processing

Agile Technology Partners (ATP) offers Pro/ Fixture automated, fixture-base detailing and machining software for Pro/Engineer. The software automatically generates verified fixture-base programs from the 3D workholding concept without conventional NC processing steps. Thus. a fixture designer can generate CNC programs complete with detailed drawings, a bill of materials, a tool list and verified NC code without knowledge of NC programming or the need to operate a CAM system, the company says.
The software is fully associative, and fixture base programs change as concepts are modified. The software includes Vektek's CAD library of Pro/E3D solid models. The library is user-expandable to include fixture components from other suppliers. In addition, it is said to allow users to go from a workholding concept to a verified fixture base quickly.
