Don't ignore that card on the cover
Modern Machine Shop, Dec, 2001 by G. Chris Koepfer
MODERN MACHINE SHOP subscriber: you're special. Our magazine is different from many other magazines you may receive at home or work. Unlike Forbes, Time, Newsweek or Sports Illustrated, we're a trade magazine. Content-wise, that means we write about a specific trade, in our case metalworking. A significant difference, however, between MODERN MACHINE SHOP and those other magazines is that while you pay a subscription fee for them, you receive our magazine free of charge.
Why free, you ask? Well, it's because you are a qualified recipient. We use a variety of criteria to qualify our recipients. Not everyone who wants to receive MODERN MACHINE SHOP can get it. We send it to people who, like you, are involved in metalworking and have influence over the processes used in the business.
That explains why your name is on the mailing label. Once a year, we ask for your help. It's not a difficult request. You probably blew by the subscription renewal card we attached to the cover of this month's issue. Many of you may have ripped it off to see the nice cover photo illustrating this issue's emphasis topic of grinding.
Every December, MODERN MACHINE SHOP puts a subscription card on the magazine. It's a request from us for you to sign up to receive MODERN MACHINE SHOP for another year. We've made the renewal process easy and given you three ways to do it.
First, you can simply renew online. Our Web site www.mmsonline.com has a place for you to request your continued subscription to MODERN MACHINE SHOP. All you need do is click on www.mmsonline.com/subscribe, and up comes a page with easy-to-follow instructions. Follow them, and in a minute or so, you'll be current on our circulation list and will continue getting MODERN MACHINE SHOP.
If you prefer, you can fax the renewal card to us. Fill it out, make a photocopy (for legibility, it's better if you copy the card at 135 percent), and fax it to us at (513) 527-8830.
A third method is to fill out the card on the cover, sign the bottom and put it into the mail. There is no postage required. Then sit back and wait for the January issue to arrive.
Now that you know how to continue receiving MODERN MACHINE SHOP, feel free to tell others in your business you think would qualify for a personal copy of the magazine. Thank you for your support.
