The Advantage 400 is a five-axis CNC system ([+ or -] 10 V and/or four axes of stepper max.) and spindle (closed- or open-loop). The machine features dynamic multi-block segmented look-ahead for toolpath fidelity at any speed and automatic laser leadscrew and backlash compensation.

The machine is based on the PMAC2 axis controller with an embedded PC104 computer. The front panel includes a 7.4" black and white LCD display with color option (6.4"), and standard CNC keyboard for easy machine management and RS-274 G-code language program editor.

The axis controller CPU features a 40 MHz DSP56311 CPU, 128k x 24 internal zero-wait-state SRAM, 512k x 8 flash memory for user backup and firmware, default servo cycle time of 55 microseconds per axis (expandable) and servo algorithm with velocity and acceleration feed forward and notch filters.

The machine interfaces with up to 64 PLCs for I/Os and machine sequence management. Basic language is used for programming.
