CMMS software with scalable architecture
Modern Machine Shop, Jan, 2003 by Shauna R. Steigerwald
FTM Version 3.0 CMMS software is said to enhance core functionality to provide a scalable architecture, and it offers three new modules. The DTMF (touch-tone) module is said to enable easy access to report breakdowns, notify maintenance and update equipment status. The spares usage and control module is said to minimize the use of consumables and spares, giving more control over critical and Class C/D type of spares while monitoring the lifetime of a spare at its location. The human resource utilization module identifies human resource bottlenecks and the effectiveness of a maintenance team or their requirements for training.
System expansion is now accomplished on a limited budget without costly hardware and software upgrades, the company says.
