The new 8055 TC CNC for lathes has all the important features found in advanced CNC systems. It offers a new and more powerful central processing unit. It is designed for OEM applications or can integrate into a customer's existing machine for retrofit or replacement.

Simplicity is one of the most important features of the 8055 TC. Even operators with little CNC experience can operate it with efficiency. For fast programming, operators simply key in the machining conditions and the geometric data of the part. Each machining operation is represented by an icon key on the control and can be simulated on the screen in 2D and 3D by the operator to verify performance. Control screens can also be customized to make programming even easier.

Operators can also use the 8055 TC's automatic (canned) cycles, which are designed for easy use and to boost job shop productivity. Operators can even program and save their own canned cycles to save setup times and increase productivity for families of parts. The 8055 TC can perform facing, turning tapering, rounding, grooving, threading, drilling, tapping and positioning.

Simple profiles are entered in one step, and complicated profiles are solved with the help of an integrated geometric editor. A built-in profile solver saves the user from having to calculate any data due to undefined variables. All operations can be simulated as they are input so that the operator can check the operation before making the part.

When operated with the JOG (manual) Mode, the 8055 TC's screen shows the operator all the information needed: position of the axes, feedrate, spindle rpm, tool selected and more. This allows the turning center to be operated manually, but with greater speed, accuracy and precision. Also, with the JOG mode, which can also be used as a teach mode, the operator can input a part program while manually operating the machine.
