Manufacturing Industry

Paperless paper

Modern Machine Shop, Feb, 2002 by Katherine A. Kelley

Cimnet Inc. (Robesonia, Pennsylvania) has released a "non-paper whitepaper" that intends to explain how manufacturers can improve their operations using paperless manufacturing techniques. The e-paper is available for download at www.cimnetinc.com and explains that the human resources used in non-value added tasks burden many factories from ever becoming best in class.

Personnel dedicated to the maintenance of paper manufacturing documents should not be working on the distribution and reporting of the information, but instead should be reviewing and analyzing ways to improve current processes.
