Wood & Wood Products, Oct, 2007
ATLANTA -- Wood & Wood Products, the Centre for Advanced Wood Processing at the University of British Columbia and the International Woodworking Machinery & Supply Fair-USA will collaborate on a comprehensive one-day Wood Finishing Symposium on Aug. 19, 2008.
The program takes place one day before IWF opens its doors to an expected 25,000 buyers, Aug. 20-23, at the Georgia World Congress Center. W&WP and UBC organized successful wood finishing seminars before IWF 2004 and IWF 2006.
"IWF is a global event and the symposium will provide buyers worldwide with innovative new ideas that they can use to improve their finishing process," said Iain Macdonald, managing director, Centre for Advanced Wood Processing, University of British Columbia.
"We are extremely pleased and excited to have the Western Hemisphere's largest woodworking event as a partner for the 2008 Wood Finishing Symposium," said Rich Christianson, associate publisher and editor-at-large of W&WP. "IWF is the Launch pad for new technology for the industry, and there is no better place to showcase this full-day educational program for industrial wood finishing than IWF 2008. IWF is where the industry all comes together to find new ways to become more successful in their business."
"It's about delivering real value to our buyers and we feel that every buyer who attends IWF and the Finishing Symposium will come away with something they learned today that they can use tomorrow," said Charles R. (Tommy) Tomkins, IWF 2008 chairman and president of Cresent Fine Furniture Co., based in Gallatin, TN.
