Arrests made in immigration raid of IFCO Systems
Wood & Wood Products, May, 2006
WASHINGTON -- Immigration agents arrested seven current and former managers and 1,187 illegal alien employees of IFCO Systems, a manufacturer of crates and pallets, as part of a crackdown on employers of illegal workers, according to the Department of Homeland Security.
The seven IFCO managers were arrested on charges alleging they conspired to transport, harbor and encourage illegal workers to reside in the United States for commercial advantage and private financial gain.
In addition, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents recently conducted searches of more than 40 IFCO offices, plants and related locations.
