TV and cable networks planning to cover Pope John Paul's Jan. 21-25 visit to Cuba have asked U.S. govt. for waiver of 1996 law that limits U.S. companies to spending no more than $100 per day to support employees in Cuba. CNN, which is only U.S. news organization with bureau in Havana, said its regular hotel per-night rate has been increased to nearly $200 from $70 through Pope's visit.
