Concord Camera sued - lawsuit against Fuji Photo Film

Television Digest with Consumer Electronics, Jan 5, 1998

Concord Camera sued Fuji Photo Film last week seeking to block latter from ending 1996 legal settlement. Fuji notified Concord that it would end nonexclusive license for single-use camera technology Jan. 6 because latter violated geographic restrictions of pact, Concord said. Concord denied allegation and filed suit in U.S.

Dist. Court, N.Y., seeking to enjoin Fuji from ending agreement. Concord, which builds single-use cameras in China, said dispute could lead to "material adverse impact" on its business. Single-use cameras were 67.1% of Concord's $65.7 million in revenues in fiscal 1997 (TVD Oct 13 p19). Agfa (20.6%) and Imation (19.8%) were 2 largest customers.
