Clarion said it will establish regional hq in 4 major world markets, including Advanced Technology Div. branch office in Orange County, Cal. Others will be based in Asia, Europe and Japan, with intent of encouraging local technology development and parts procurement to shorten product lead times and make goods more adaptable t o markets, Clarion said.

In unrelated development, it said it shored up European production by establishing subsidiary in Hungary to make car audio gear and parts. Hungarian subsidiary will be capitalized at 1.5 billion yen and is t o start production next Jan. Clarion now has capacity to produce 400,000 car stereos annually in Europe.
