SAN FRANCISCO -- RestaurantPro.com, a developing Internet portal site centered around e-procurement and other benefits for full-service independent operators; will offer some users free personal computers, high-speed Internet access, on-site training and 24-hour, seven-day-a-week technical support. That full complimentary package will go to RestaurantPro.com users who agree to purchase high-speed, Internet-based credit-card processing services from BA Merchant Services, a subsidiary of Bank of America, which will pay RestaurantPro.com a transaction fee for each credit-card purchase.

RestaurantPro.com chief executive Christopher R. Hemmeter said his company's Web site is scheduled to go live later this spring and will initially serve restaurants in San Francisco before rolling into Chicago, New York and Phoenix.
Strategic partners in RestaurantPro.com include BA Merchant Services; OpenTable.com, the online reservation and customer-database services company; e-business systems supplier Commerce One Inc.; online retailer Chefstore.com and LMKI Inc., a supplier of secure data network technology.
