Wynn acquires Vegas' Desert Inn resort

Nation's Restaurant News, May 8, 2000

LAS VEGAS -- Departing Mirage Resorts Inc. chairman Steve Wynn bought the Desert Inn resort on the Strip here from Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide. Financial terms were not disclosed although The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported last week that Wynn was considering buying the Desert Inn for $275 million in an all-cash deal.

The deal is contingent upon the completion of MOM Grand Inc.'s $4.4 billion buyout of Mirage, an agreement expected to be finalized later this year.
