WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Krispy Kreme Doughnuts is expanding its 275-unit chain's Canadian fleet by increasing the territory of Kremeko Inc., which had a 32-unit deal for Ontario, Quebec and four Atlantic provinces. KremeKo has four units open in Ontario. The new pact includes the provinces of Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan and calls for eight more stores over the next five years.
Krispy Kreme will retain a 39.3-percent stake in the joint venture.
