Nation's Restaurant News, May 24, 2004
Sheraton Hotels & Resorts is marketing a wide range of menu items that are low in carbohydrates. Lo-Carb Lifestyles by Sheraton is being rolled out this month in 200 hotels in North America, with planned expansion overseas next year. The company says offerings include low-carb banquet menus, to-go snacks, restaurant menus, cocktails and even a mint on the pillow with 1 gram of carbohydrates.
Menu items, developed by Sheraton executive chef Richard Faeh, include spinach-and-artichoke dip to be scooped up with asparagus, zucchini, squash, peppers, broccoli and celery; flourless Buffalo wings; crouton-free Caesar salad with marinated, grilled chicken strips; seared salmon with lentil stew and vegetables; and a bunless double-patty burger topped with cheddar and bleu cheeses and served with caramelized onions and coleslaw.
