Otis Spunkmeyer to remove trans fats from cookie dough

Nation's Restaurant News, May 23, 2005

SAN LEANDRO, CALIF. -- Otis Spunkmeyer said its line of frozen gourmet cookie dough would be free of trans fats by the end of 2005. The company noted that the move is a response to consumer concerns about health and nutrition. The reformulated cookie dough includes such Otis Spunkmeyer brands as Supreme Indulgence, Sweet Discovery, Traditional Recipe and Value Zone.

The company already has removed trans fats from its thaw-and-service muffins.
