Giannasio is first woman to earn grand master certification for hospitality

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Marcella Giannasio, associate professor at the Johnson & Wales University campus here, was recognized as the first woman in the United States to achieve the Hospitality Grand Master certification from the Federation of Dining Room Professionals. The FDRP is an accredited organization that certifies front-of-the-house professionals from entry levels to mastery levels.

Giannasio has been an instructor at Johnson & Wales for 11 years.
