Dunkin' Brands Inc. reorganizes exec ranks

Nation's Restaurant News, June 15, 2009

CANTON, MASS. -- Dunkin' Brands Inc., parent of the Dunkin' Donuts and Baskin-Robbins chains, has reorganized its executive ranks. Among the executives who were let go June 5 were Stephen J. Caldeira, Dunkin' Brands' chief global communications officer, and Margie Myers, senior vice president of communications, said spokeswoman Michelle King.

King said Caldeira's and Myers' positions would be replaced by one senior-level communications officer in the coming weeks and that Stephen Horn, chief legal officer, would be taking responsibility for handling the company's government affairs.

She said Dunkin' has eliminated 50 staff positions in the recent past, although the company just hired a new senior vice president of human resources, who was not identified. Dunkin' also created several new senior-level positions that are expected to assist with growth.

"The organizational changes at Dunkin' Brands reflect our ongoing and continued efforts to streamline all areas of our business to allow us to operate as effectively and efficiently as possible," she said.

"We remain dedicated to expanding our brands and continuing to grow steadily and strategically, both domestically and internationally," King continued. "Like most forward-thinking companies, Dunkin' Brands is also committed to investing resources to support key strategic-plan initiatives designed to fuel innovation, drive sales and increase franchisee profitability."
