RONKONKOMA, N.Y. -- J&B Restaurant Partners, operator of 31 Friendly's, was slated to open a new restaurant in Long Island, N.Y., marking the family-dining chain's first new location to open in the area in more than 12 years, according to company officials. J&B Restaurant Partners, which bought all of the Friendly's locations in Long Island about two years ago, said that by the end of 2005 it plans to have remodeled all of its existing restaurants with Friendly Ice Cream Corp.'s new prototype design and to have built 10 new units.

Friendly Ice Cream operates and franchises a chain of more than 550 units.
