First culinary and food science degree granted

ATLANTA -- The Research Chefs Association announced that the first Bachelor of Science degree in culinology recently was earned by Donald Moss at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. Moss began at UNL in the fall of 1998, with an emphasis in meat science.

The culinology degree program, which combines culinary and food science studies, will be available fall 2004 at Clemson University in Clemson, S.C., as well as at the University of Nebraska.
