Coca-Cola Fountain partners with EMN8, Allure Fusion Media

Nation's Restaurant News, August 19, 2002

ATLANTA -- Coca-Cola Fountain, a division of The Coca-Cola Co., teamed up with two digital-image marketing communications partners: EMN8, also known as Enterprise Media Networks, and Allure Fusion Media Inc.

EMN8 technology will offer customers in quick-service restaurants the option to use point-of-purchase, flat-panel terminals that let them place their own orders and then pay using any payment method, including debit card, credit card and cash.

The technology, which employs Intel architecture, also enables patrons to conduct the transactions in multiple languages.

Over the next two years, Coca-Cola Fountain will work with the San Diego-based EMN8 to make the technology available to CCF customers.

"The EMN8 technology will be a tremendous benefit for Coca-Cola Fountain customers," said Eric McCarthey, CCF's senior vice president of sales and marketing. "And I believe the added benefits of the EMN8 product will change the quick-service restaurant experience for all consumers."

The agreement with Atlanta-based Allure Fusion Media will provide quick-service restaurants with a Web-enabled system using digital display screens to communicate multimedia messages. The screens will allow operators to display and rapidly update multiple DVD-quality promotions, core messaging and graphics.

CCF plans to introduce its foodservice customers to Allure and the digital marketing communications system. "Allure's technology enables customized messages by time of day and by location through instant programming, which practically guarantees that the restaurant's key messages will be merchandised in the outlet," McCarthey said.
