Chicken Shack gives thanks at auto event

ROYAL OAK, MICH. -- Chicken Shack recently donated more than 24,000 chicken wings and 3,500 bones of barbecue ribs to the Detroit community during the eighth annual Woodward Dream Cruise as a gesture of thanks and appreciation. The Woodward Dream Cruise is a one-day event in which cruisers show off their classic cars and street rods over a 16-mile route.

Chicken Shack also donated 3,000 pieces of chicken to a local Dream Cruise fund-raiser that helped to generate about $15,000 for the National Shrine of the Little Flower Working the grill at the Dream Cruise are, from left, Mark Sobeck, vice president of Chicken Shack; Chanda Sobeck, wife of the chain's communication director, Neil Sobeck, and co-founder Iola Sobeck.
