General Mills helps to battle breast cancer

Nation's Restaurant News, Sept 5, 2005

MINNEAPOLIS -- General Mills Bakeries & Foodservice will help to raise money to battle breast cancer this year by providing foodservice operators with merchandising kits containing collection boxes and shelf danglers to promote Save Lids to Save Lives. The fundraising effort will take place during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.

For every pink lid collected from the top of Yoplait yogurt containers, Yoplait will donate 10 cents--up to $1.5 million--to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Over the past five years, Yoplait and General Mills have donated more than $14 million to help fight breast cancer. Since 2001 Yoplait also has been the presenting sponsor of the foundation's Race for the Cure.
