WASHINGTON -- The National Restaurant Association is accepting applications for its 2009 Kitchen Innovations Awards through Dec. 19. The awards program recognizes innovative equipment from around the world at the group's annual Restaurant, Hotel-Motel Show to be held at Chicago's McCormick Place May 16-19, 2009.
"With profit margins squeezed by increasing costs in today's economy, restaurateurs are looking now more than ever for equipment that will improve their bottom lines,' said Lorna Donatone, convention chair for the NRA Show and president of school services for Sodexo Inc. "Groundbreaking advancements in kitchen equipment are key to productivity and efficiency, and manufacturers capitalizing on this will gain a competitive business edge"
