Philadelphia School District, cafeteria workers' union OK contract

Nation's Restaurant News, Sept 13, 1999

PHILADELPHIA -- Cafeteria workers for the Philadelphia School District reported for the first day of school as scheduled, as a tentative contract agreement with the Board of Education on Aug. 31 averted a strike.

Details of the contract between School Employees' Union, Local 364, and the district were not released.

Local 364 was one of four unions negotiating separately with the Board of Education. The others were the School Police Association of Philadelphia, the Commonwealth Association of School Administrators and School Employees' Union Local 1201, which represents bus drivers, attendants, mechanics and building engineers.
