Burger King continues restructuring of marketing department

Nation's Restaurant News, Oct 1, 2001

MIAMI -- Burger King Corp. continued the realignment of its marketing department with the appointment of Rick N. Brown as vice president, field marketing and sales manager.

Brown joined the company from Taco Bell, where he was president of national field marketing. He will report to chief global marketing officer Chris Clouser. Brown's main duty will be to develop and implement Burger King's strategic marketing programs and tactical plans on a regional basis. He also will direct new-product launches, advertising and merchandising programs.

Burger King began realigning the marketing staff in September with seven job changes affecting product marketing, partnerships, communications, analysis, global media and interactive and adult promotions.

The chain said it made the changes to increase market share.
