EAST LANSING, MICH. -- The J. Willard and Alice S. Marriott Foundation awarded $550,000 in scholarships to Michigan State University's School of Hospitality Business.

The grant of $475,000 will provide perpetual assistance to hospitality industry students. The foundation also will provide $75,000 in expendable funds for launching the program.

Most of the funds will support traditional tuition needs for college students. Recipients will be selected based on financial need, academic interest in hospitality and leadership potential.

The scholarships also will enable students to participate in the Broad Business Student Camp during the summer between their junior and senior years of high school. The student camp is a six-day, residential learning program on MSU's campus.
