NRA to debut International Wine, Spirits & Beer Event at 2008 Show

Nation's Restaurant News, Nov 12, 2007

CHICAGO -- The National Restaurant Association said it would debut its International Wine, Spirits & Beer Event at the Restaurant, Hotel-Motel Show here in May.

The IWSB will feature focused vintner, distiller and brewer tastings, demonstrations, and educational programs developed to inform restaurant and hospitality operators. It also will underscore the NRA's commitment to responsible alcohol service and practices.

The event will provide a unique event for vintners, distillers and brewers to interact with beverage buyers from chain, multiconcept and independent restaurants, casinos, cruise lines, hotel and resort operations, and other foodservice outlets.

Top importers and distributors will attend, as will other trendsetters, and the event will provide opportunities to explore the latest beverage trends, locate new products, network with industry experts, and pick up new ideas. Attendees also can learn how to improve responsible alcohol service.

"We are excited to launch the International Wine, Spirits & Beer Event at NRA Show 2008 as a new way to highlight the category," said William C. Anton, convention chairman for the 2008 show and chairman and founder of Anton Airfood Inc. "IWSB will be a highly qualified and controlled business-to-business showcase for the products and information that operators need to maximize growth and profitability."

IWSB will be held at McCormick Place May 19-20, 2008, in conjunction with the NRA Show, which will be held May 17-20. IWSB attendees automatically will be registered for the NRA Show, which attracts nearly 2,150 exhibitors and 74,000 attendees and visitors.
