YORKSHIRE, ENGLAND -- A popular restaurant in the county of Cumbria here has decided to serve its customers gray-squirrel pancakes.
According to the Daily Mail newspaper, the Wild Boar Hotel is offering the canapes, which are prepared Peking-duck-style and served in wraps, for free. The squirrels reportedly were caught on the grounds of the 72-acre hotel and cooked by executive chef Marc Sanders.
"Our diners seem to enjoy the squirrel pancakes, and I thought they tasted rather nice, a bit like rabbit," said Andy Lemm, the hotel's general manager.
