El Pollo Loco starts review for general-market ad duties

Nation's Restaurant News, Nov 25, 2002

IRVINE, CALIF. -- El Pollo Loco launched an agency review for general-market ad duties and said incumbent agency Dailey and Associates would not participate:

The review of the $7 million account comes a month after the 300-unit chain hired Karen Eadon, a former marketing executive at McDonald's Corp. and Applebee's International, as vice president and chief marketing officer.

El Pollo Loco is expected to complete the review by February. The chain, which specializes in flame-broiled, marinated chicken, is focusing on ad agencies with established offices in Southern California.

The review does not involve Hispanic-market ad duties, which are handled by cruz/kravetz: IDEAS of Los Angeles.
