Mall radiation counter reacts to hospital outpatient

Nation's Restaurant News, Feb 2, 2004

MILBURN, N.J. -- Here's good advice for hospital outpatients: If you've been to the hospital for any treatment involving radiation, don't stop at the Short Hills Mall on your way home.

According to a report by News12 New Jersey, an unidentified person eating at a Legal Sea Foods restaurant here set off a security guard's radiation detector. Reportedly, the level was high enough to cause the mall to call in the state's counter-terrorism team and a hazardous-materials unit.

The restaurant was closed for a short time until officials decided that the diner was not a terrorist.
