Krispy Kreme taps 3 execs for senior posts

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Inc. promoted John Tate to chief operating officer. A Dole Food and PepsiCo veteran, he joined Krispy Kreme in 2000 as chief financial officer and president of the chain's manufacturing and distribution division.

The company also promoted controller Randy Casstevens, a nine-year Krispy Kreme veteran, to senior vice president and chief financial officer, and promoted Sherry Luper to senior vice president of human resources. She joined the chain last year as recruitment and training VP.

Separately, Krispy Kreme said Burger King and Tricon architecture and design veteran Ceres Wood joined the company as senior vice president of store development, and Sherry Polonsky, former vice president and controller of Mary Kay Inc., was named VP of finance.
