McD'S selects vendors for card-payment-acceptance initiative

OAK BROOK, ILL. -- McDonald's Corp. has selected Verifone as the nationally approved supplier of electronic payment terminals for company restaurants in the United States and the preferred provider of such technology for domestic franchisees, representatives of Santa Clara, Calif.-based Verifone said.

The Oak Brook, Ill.-based chain also named Concord, EFS of Memphis as the approved provider of credit- and debit-processing services for domestic company restaurants and the preferred provider for U.S. franchisees, McDonald's and Concord EFS sources said.

McDonald's has approximately 2,000 company restaurants and 11,000 franchised units in the United States.
