Farmland joint ventures to merge

Nation's Restaurant News, April 17, 1995

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Farmland Industries, a diversified agricultural cooperative here, said that its two joint venture companies, National Beef Packing Co. L.P. and Hyplains Beef L.C., have merged all operations into a single entity called National Beef Packing Co. L.P.

The merger includes slaughter and boxed beef facilities at Liberal and Dodge City, Kan., and a Supreme Feeders feedlot outside Liberal.

The company said the newly formed entity will streamline administrative functions and improve financing opportunities.

No changes are expected in the day-to-day production as a result of the merger, the company reported.
