Hehmeyer replaces Bloom as CCA president, CEO

Nation's Restaurant News, May 16, 1994

SAN FRANCISCO -- The board of the California Culinary Academy here appointed director Alexander M. Hehmeyer president and chief executive officer following the resignation of Thomas A. Bloom.

Academy officials said Bloom "resigned to pursue other business interests."

Bloom, who had led the academy since 1988, could not be reached for comment.

"Alex specializes in maximizing investor returns through efficient operations, strategic planning, business development and acquisitions," CCA chairman Theodore G. Crocker said in a written statement following the school's change in management.

Hehmeyer, a CCA board member since 1987, previously served as managing director, general counsel, chief financial officer and a director of Richard C. Blum & Associates Inc., a San Francisco merchant banking and investment advisory firm.

Crocker said Hehmeyer's background "will enable the board to quickly and cost efficiently expand operations and ... capitalize on its growing multi-media and product licensing opportunities."
