GREENSBORO, N.C. -- McDonald's Corp. has acquired a 59-unit franchise outfit here.

Michael Haley, president of Triton Management sold the outfit to the Oak Brook, Ill.-based fast feeder for an undisclosed price.

Haley, a McDonald's franchisee for the past 33 years, said he was "planning this transition for several years and the timing is now right."

A McDonald's spokeswoman said the corporation will operate the units until one or more franchisees can be found to take over the stores.

Haley said he will continue to franchise one store and will devote much of his time to various charitable organizations.
