WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. -- Ernest W. Townsend was named an executive vice president and a member of the office of chairman of Dole Food Co.
Townsend, 47, who previously headed Dole's fresh fruit and vegetable unit, now will oversee all Dole operations, sales and marketing activities as president of Dole Food Co.- North America.

In addition, David DeLorenzo, 47, became president of Dole Food Co.-International. Both Townsend and DeLorenzo's positions are newly created, and each reports to Dole chairman David H. Murdock.
