Third Silver Diner opens in Potomac Mills

ROCKVILLE, Md. - Silver Diner opened its third unit in Potomac Mills last week adjacent to the area's teeming outlet malls.

Like its two predecessors in Rockville and Laurel, Md., the 165-seat diner will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Checks are expected to average about $7 per person. The moderately priced menu offers a wide range of selections, including soups, hot and grilled sandwiches, hamburgers, fresh salad plates, eggs and omelets, pancakes and waffles, blue plate specials, light entrees and chef specials, and homemade cakes and pies.

In addition, all three restaurants offer takeout and delivery, "10 minutes or it's free" lunch service, a senior citizens' menu and a children's coloring menu.

According to owner Robert Giamo, the Rockville operation serves more than 12,000 meals per week while the Laurel unit does about 10,000.
