SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- Continuing its growth by-shopping spree, Canteen Corp. has purchased the contract food and vending services division of Heritage House Restaurants Inc.
Details of the acquisition -- Canteen's eighth since 1991 -- were not disclosed.
Heritage House Restaurants, which is based in Springfield, Ill., owns Heritage House Smorgasbords and manages more than 40 corporate dining and vending accounts in Illinois and Indiana. Revenues of the divested corporate and vending accounts are estimated at $5.9 million.

Canteen, a division of diversified foodservice giant Flagstar Cos. Inc., will service the new accounts from its Illinois offices in Decatur, Bloomington and Peoria as well as Indianapolis.
