American Rest. Group said to mull Grandy's sale

Nation's Restaurant News, Nov 27, 1995

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. - American Restaurant Group Holdings Inc., operator of the Grandy's, Stuart Anderson's Black Angus and several other concepts, said in its recent quarterly income statement that it had agreed to make "a substantial asset sale" in conjunction with the extension of the maturity dates of its credit facilities.

Company officials did not return phone calls immediately, but sources close to the situation said the company had been seeking to sell its 165-unit Grandy's quick-service chicken concept. There was also speculation that the company could enter a sale-lease-back transaction for some of its properties.
