French bistros take all-American turn

Nation's Restaurant News, Feb 8, 1988 by Joe Edwards

Over in the East Village, in a somewhat forbidding neighborhood--a men's shelter and Hell's Angels' headquarters are close by--is a storefront French restaurant called Everybody's.

The restaurant has 20 or so seats, a couple of counter stools, a tile floor, and tables covered with oil cloths. The menu, which changes daily, features six entrees and four appetizers. On one recent evening, sea bass, chicken breast, calves' liver, filet mignon, and a pasta dish were offered, with entree prices in the $10-to-$16 range.

Everybody's does not have a liquor license, but wine is available at a liquor store a block away.
