Sigarms hires law enforcement staff - Industry Newsmakers

Sigarms added Al Barr and Dana Owen to their law enforcement and military sales division.

Barr, a graduate of the University of Texas, served as a captain in the Marines and was highly decorated for his service in Vietnam. During 24 years with the FBI, Barr was an investigator and taught instructor schools in firearms, defensive tactics, SWAT and sniper craft. He later served as a helicopter pilot for the Bureau's hostage-rescue team. An NRA member since 1959, Barr competed in police combat matches and holds a high master rating, distinguished badge, and two national records.

Owen is a 27-year veteran of the Massachusetts Metropolitan Police and State Police. Owen held several positions for the Metro Police, including firearms coordinator and armorer, and primary firearms instructor. He was a member of the SWAT team, a recipient of the Metropolitan Police Medal of Valor, and he is a graduate of Northeastern University.
