After a 23-year-old idiot in Bend, Ore., was shot in the leg, his tiny mind turned to money. He knew who the shooter was, and he'd watched a lot of television, so he knew the cops could link the slug in his leg to the suspect -- you know, with some of them fancy cop-science machines and stuff. Now, how could he turn a few bucks out of this deal?

Mister Mental Giant broke out his handy-dandy X-acto knife, painfully carved the slug out of his own leg, and sold it to the shooter for $200. He billed it as the only way to put the skids on prosecution. Trouble is, morons talk to other morons, and those other morons tell stupid stories to the police. Both rocket scientists went to jail, one of them limping a bit.
