Tom Gaylord published The Airgun Letter and Airgun Revue magazine for nine years, and is the author of The Beeman R1 Supermagnum Air Rifle. He was the founding editor and principal writer of Airgun Illustrated magazine, the country's first newsstand magazine devoted entirely to airguns. He also writes for Shotgun News and other publications.

He has assisted in the development of several airguns and airgun scopes, and is the technical director of AirForce Airguns.
