Armor Holdings acquires light company - Industry Bulletin Board

Shooting Industry, Jan, 2003

Armor Holdings acquired the assets of 911 EP, a private manufacturer of emergency lighting products that use LED technology. 911 EP offers patrol car lighting systems that efficiently use the vehicle's 12-volt system, while consuming less energy than traditional strobe and halogen lights.

"911 EP is an important acquisition for us," said Steve Croskrey, president and CEO of Armor Holdings Product Division. "It compliments our current portfolio of law enforcement products, and provides us with new products to cross over from law enforcement into public safety, fire and rescue."

In other Armour Holdings news, the company's American Body Armor & Equipment (ABA) unit agreed to a settlement of its patent infringement lawsuit against Protective Apparel Corp. of America (PACA). The resolution of the dispute allows PACA to license ABA's patent.

"The mission of Armor Holdings Product Division is to provide protection to law enforcement officers, and by settling this dispute, we are offering additional resources of the highest quality patent protection on the market," said Croskrey.
