Shooting Industry, Jan, 2004
The 2004 SHOT Show Knife, a one-of-a-kind Centennial Presentation Bowie, was created by the Imperial Schrade Corp. to honor the knife's 100th anniversary. Proceeds from the knife's auction also will support the HSSHF.
Crafted in the company's custom shop in Ellenville, N.Y., the 11-inch Bowie features a genuine sambar "burnt" stag handle with a mirror-finished solid-brass butt and guard assembly. The blade features a mirror-polished blued finish and is engraved with the Schrade 100th anniversary logo.
Ten inlaid diamonds, each representing a decade of Schrade history, set off the blade's engraving, which also features gold, copper and silver embellishment. The knife is displayed in a lockable, solid walnut display case with a glass-viewing lid.
The SHOT Show knife will be awarded to the highest bidder, using the same guidelines used for the SHOT Show Gun auction.
"We're overwhelmed by the generosity exhibited by Schrade Knives through its donation this year. This is one of the finest knives we have showcased in our auctions to date," said David Miles, director of Market Development for HSSHF. "Over the past two years, the SHOT Show auction has generated $47,700 in additional support for the Heritage Foundation and provided many hours of entertainment for the countless sportsmen and firearm enthusiasts who have participated."
