Big, bombproof, and a bargain-budget two-pack

Shooting Industry, Feb, 2004

Mag-Lite is still a top seller. Simply put, many of your customers won't buy any full-size flashlight except Mag-Lite. Models are offered in all sizes and several styles, but when buyers want weapon-like heft, bombproof construction, and an adjustable spot-to-flood beam, the four D-cell and four C-cell models are perennial favorites for larger and smaller hands.

The Coleman name has great customer loyalty, and two of their most utilitarian light models are offered in a single blister pack. The aluminum-bodied two D-cell broadhead flashlight features a ribbed rubber sheathing for an excellent grip either in the hand or snugged-up under an arm.

The Coleman companion piece in this set looks like a short, squat version of its two-D brother, but it's really a four-AA cell combination flashlight and lantern, and, it floats.
