Hornady employees pledge $11,500 to Heritage Trust

Shooting Industry, March, 2005

Employees of Hornady Manufacturing Co. pledged more than $11,500 to the Hunting and Shooting Sports Heritage Trust at a recent fundraiser. Employees were invited to contribute one day's pay each year to defend the nation's hunting and shooting heritage.

The "Give A Day For Years To Come" program was developed in 2004 by the Heritage Trust. Nearly 100 Hornady employees responded during the fund drive, contributing an average of more than $120 per participating employee.

"When the idea for this fundraiser was first proposed, I felt it was something our employees would support, and they sure proved me right," said Steve Hornady, president and CEO of Hornady and a member of the Heritage Trust board of directors. "I urge my fellow manufacturers of hunting and shooting sports equipment to sponsor a Give A Day program in 2005. I think they'll be very pleased with employee reaction."

The Heritage Trust raises and distributes funds in support of hunting and shooting sports traditions. The trust has awarded more than $60,000 to a wide range of organizations.
