Topic: RSS FeedAcademy of excellence votes for 2005 awards
Shooting Industry, March, 2005 by Russ Thurman
The Shooting Industry Academy of Excellence is now considering the final nominations for its 2005 awards. The Potential Nominee Ballot was sent to the academy's 450-plus members in mid-February.
"The academy members considered 154 potential nominees in 14 categories," said Randy Molde, academy director. "They faced some tough decisions because of the number of impressive products. Also, we had more potential nominees for Manufacturer of the Year than we've had in the history of the academy."
The academy's votes from the Potential Nominee Ballot determined the Final Ballot, which was sent to the academy this month. Their vote determines who will receive the 2005 awards.
Since 1992, the academy has selected top products, companies and individuals for its honors. No one at FMG Publications has a vote. That's what gives the awards prestige and legitimacy.
I will have the honor of joining Randy to present the 2005 awards during a special reception April 15 at the Hyatt Regency in Houston, in conjunction with the NRA Show.
